Jill and Eustace are both sitting on the backs of Centaurs in a great crowd outside Cair Paravel. They can see Trumpkin in his chair and Prince Rilian through the crowd (he's wearing a red cloak and silver mail) and King Caspian's ship is just gliding up to the dock. There's a flourish of trumpets, music starts to play, and everybody waits for the King to come down. Instead, a Lord with a pale face comes and talks to Trumpkin and Rilian. After a few minutes, four Knights carry the King down on a bed. The Prince embraces him, he raises his hand to bless the Prince, everybody gives a halfhearted, worried cheer... and the King dies.

Everybody starts to cry. Jill and Eustace slip off their Centaurs unnoticed, and Jill says she wishes they were home. Then Aslan appears and Jill experiences a moment of utter remorse for every unkind thing she did over the whole journey, but Aslan says it's all right and that he'll take them home. He blows them back to the Mountain of Aslan, above and beyond the end of the world, but they can still hear the funeral music that was playing in Narnia -- and it's so despairing and Aslan is so beautiful that Jill doesn't know which it is that's making her cry.

Aslan stops by the stream, and she and Eustace look into it, and there is Caspian lying on the golden gravel with the water flowing very clear over his body. Jill and Eustace and even Aslan weep over him.

* Jill now remembers everything she will ever remember about Caspian in person
* This memory will make her cry, but it won't hurt her -- it's just sad
* Vaguely aware that she may have made Eustace fall off a cliff
* +25 homesickness without a strong notion of home to tie it to
