Game: A Tea Party with Alice
Form: a scrap of paper in your team color. eat it to receive your memory
Uses: 1/1 taken
Type: Trivial Negative
It's morning in Harfang; Jill eats, washes, gets dressed, and is waiting by the fire when the Giant Nurse brings Puddleglum and Eustace in to see her. They climb up onto the window-seat in her room to look outside, and immediately see that they're just above the City Ruinous, and in the center of the pavement run the words UNDER ME.
'The three travelers looked at each other with dismay, and, after a short whistle, Scrubb said what they were all thinking, "The second and third signs muffed."'
Jill remembers that she'd just dreamed Aslan had come and asked her to repeat the signs, but she'd forgotten them, and then he showed her just what they'd all seen out the window. She says it's all her fault, but Puddleglum and Eustace both blame themselves, too. Eustace says that they'd been so keen (at least he had been) to get to Harfang that he'd almost forgotten about Prince Rilian, and Puddleglum says that's probably what the Lady of the Green Kirtle intended all along.
Eustace figures out that they'd been walking through the letters the night before, in the dark and snow, but didn't know what was going on (Jill hasn't remembered that night yet, at the time of receiving this memory), and they all agree that they probably have to go underground. Then they turn to the question of how, and realize they're completely dependent on the giants letting them go, if they want to do it openly, since none of them are big enough to open the doors.
They talk it over, and in the end, decide to try acting very "gay and frolicsome" and enthusiastic about the Autumn Feast, and wander around the castle asking questions, trying to figure out what to do and see if they can possibly escape out a kitchen door that might be left open while the giants are having dinner.
* This is generally a pretty shameful memory
* +25 desire to Be Reliable
* +10 UGH GIANTS UGH
* Guilt...
