Tell me relationship things!

Jill adores Jade! She just seems so normal and nice and understandable, and she tries so hard. Jill thinks she's really brave and only freaks out about reasonable things and she wishes Jade wouldn't be so hard on herself. She really values having just... a normal girl friend who she can relate to easily on the team.

She has a tendency to big-sister Jade a little, because she does have more experience in Aather, and she is able to take things in stride more at this point in her development, but that wasn't always the case, and Jill herself isn't very aware of how much she's grown. So she big-sisters Jade but doesn't understand why she's doing it or why Jade looks up to her, because she thinks of them as being on an equal playing field even if they're not really.

Jill also feels very supported by Jade's willingness to also go around bullying and cajoling the rest of Amethyst into sharing their feelings sometimes, and that's probably going to lead to Jill confiding in Jade more... at least if a situation comes up where Jill is in distress about something and Jade's pretty okay at the time.

Relationship me on Jill and Roxas and/or Jill and Kougyoku?

Jill feels really comfortable in her friendship with Roxas. They don't talk super often, but when they do she has a lot of ease in their interactions. She trusts him a lot! Firebird's trauma game was very formative for her, and he helped her through that a lot, so he's always a safe and supportive presence to her. She'd like it if they spent more time together, but when they do it's like no time has passed between times, so she doesn't worry about it too much.

As for Kougyoku, Jill doesn't feel like she knows her very well, yet! She admires her (especially after the last big battle) and she likes talking to her and is pleased about how attached Kougyoku seems to Amethyst, but she doesn't have a very strong grasp of her personality. She definitely wants to spend more time with her.

Roxas feels pretty close to Jill, and utterly comfortable with her. She's one of those people he can just talk to about anything, which isn't always true of him and everyone. There's this sense that she won't think less of him, even if he brings up something that upsets or scares him, their friendship won't change for it, except maybe to grow closer. Sometimes, it reminds him a little of his friendship with Xion, but the key difference is, Jill will tell him if something's wrong, so it doesn't feel like treading old traumatic ground.

Kougyoku thinks Jill is super awesome, and wants her to teach her how to shoot a bow. The way that Jill and other Amethysts have reached out to her and accepted her unconditionally means so much to her, she can't even always handle all the feelings. Sometimes, she worries a little that she'll be too clingy and Jill will get sick of her, but their interactions are working to convince her otherwise.

I forgot to ask last time: relationship/first impressions me on Susan and Kougyoku?

Susan had a really good first impression of Kougyoku! She seems really courageous and also adorable. Going into battle with someone the first time you meet them is bound to make you feel closer to them, or at least that's the case here! Although she doesn't know Kougyoku very well at all, she'd be more open with her than with another person she's had the same level of interaction with.

We should thread more!

Susan thinks Breeze is very fun and gallant and easy to get along with! She just really likes serious and prickly girls, okay. It's an easy demeanor for her to sympathize with. Also, she's used to having a younger sister around, so it's kind of comforting to hang out with younger girls in general. But Breeze also commands a lot of respect, so she doesn't tend to mom at her as heavily as she does at some of her other younger friends...

Breeze likes Susan a lot. She's very chill and seems like she'd be handy to have in a crisis, and Breeze appreciates those kinds of people. But she's also friendly and has a good sense of humor, which are must-haves for Breeze, so despite the fact that they might not have talked a lot, Breeze feels more attached to Susan than she would most people at that same level of socializing.

WELL idk Susan thinks Oree is pretty neat and wants to spend more time with her. Susan is at a weird place, because she's... in this early twenties body while only remembering being 13 or younger and also being aware that she has like 50 years of live experience so far, so she really appreciates having relationships with people of different ages, and she just kind of chameleons in with whoever she's hanging out with. So she likes hanging out with Oree because she gets a more adult perspective and also gets to feel like an adult/more comfortable with being an adult, and it's helpful to her!

Basically, A++ grown up ladyfriends, would drink with again.

OREE LIKES SUSAN she seems really poised and not very threatening or challenging and she could always use more solid, sensible lady friends basically. It's also nice that Susan has no connection at all to Shiny. Oree's really trying to manifest her own life. They should def thread more <3

Susan and Katniss?

Susan has a lot of affection for Katniss, who helped her out when she was at her most bewildered and confused. I feel like if Katniss were a dude Susan would be hitting on her, but since she's a lady she just feels easy and relaxed around her. They should ALSO thread more.

Susan is someone that Katniss feels marginally more relaxed around. THAT'S AN ACCOMPLISHMENT i think if they got to talking about it, she might tell Susan her real name. THAT LEVEL OF COMFORT WOW. She likes that she's mostly just a chill archer girl who doesn't press too much.

SILL....ILY I WANT A PEETA but like. i'm so particular and feel fairly difficult so idek if anyone would be up for that (luckily i also have veto power omg no i am literally the worst at convincing people to do things) but I think PARTICULARLY RIGHT NOW in her development, Peeta would be really interesting with/for Katniss. The timing feels right...! once she remembers more about him/their relationship/things it might get a bit harder to mesh it all. BUT WE'LL SEE. WHO KNOWS.

Basically I originally apped Jill because I didn't think I could handle Susan because I was too intimidated by Edmund existing but then I ended up spending months ranting about Susan to Rui anyway until I stopped being intimidated and also gave into myself. That's the enthralling story.

WELL I like sex-swapping Mau because icons. Actually yeah just. Keisha Castle-Hughes has an awesome face and then I can look at it??

BUT NOT I also like animal transformations, those are fun. I like imagining how you might adapt to a new body in a magic world where that was a thing you could easily do and wouldn't just get totally confused and be unable to function.

I also like poisoning/sickening my characters because I am a jerk?

Susan's first impressions of Horatio? :ob

She likes him! He helped her out in the battle, which was a horrible ordeal for her, and even though it wasn't a personal act, she was very grateful. And he's quiet and dignified, which she appreciates. She feels sad for him, because his story is obviously... tragic... and his task seems hard, but in a way where she's impressed by his courage and devotion rather than just pitying him. She has a lot of sympathy toward him and would like to get to know him better.

He likes her too! She came across as...hmm, a sturdy and determined personality and he appreciated her willingness to listen to his story since that's, you know, his mission at the moment. She was a good listener and he'd like to get to know her a little better, too. Though in some ways he's not really in a place where he actively wants to think about the future too much, so it's a sort of vague desire to want to know her better.

Weh I'm terrible at thinking of questions but... What are some characters you think would be cool to have as Personae? Or what kind of Personae do you think would be cool.

I would really love to see an Iron Heinrich persona! He's a character who has such strong themes and imagery without really having much of his own story, so it'd be fun to see that interpreted and expanded on. I'd also love to see some kind of defiance-of-perceptions themed Persona. Maybe Tatterhood? Tatterhood would be great...

Relationship for Eureka!

Jill loves Eureka hard. She doesn't always understand her, but she's so proud of her and protective of her and wants to show up for her in any way she can. Even though she doesn't think on the same wavelength as Eureka at all, she instinctively feels that Eureka has certain standards that she must live up to... she wants to be good in Eureka's eyes. Which is sort of difficult, since they have different ideas of what that means, but! Jill just doesn't ever want to fail her.

Because she doesn't understand her a lot of the time, Eureka always pushes Jill to think more critically and be more aware of other people in general, just by existing. So she learns a lot through their interactions. A lot of the time she feels lost, or like she'll give Eureka bad information or bad advice through not really knowing how to get the relevant facts, but she tries her best and hopes that mutual affection and trying hard will keep things pretty okay.

i am just going to ramble and not be entirely coherent, since i cannot seem to write anything otherwise . . .

So, Jill is really important for Eureka! In a lot of ways! She set the stage when she was more focused towards emotions and wanting to help Eureka. It isn't as if the rest of Amethyst wasn't, but she said it out loud and made a point of it which created that strong link. It has only grown since, of course.

Jill provides a safe space to explore what emotionally is going on with herself and others which is really critical. Being able to play around the concepts is a good way for Eureka to determine what she thinks of it, and Jill is always very good about leaving some uncertainty in her discussions that gives Eureka the space to do that. Ironically, Jill was one of the first people, if only in Amethyst, who admitted that she was not infallible without Eureka having to realize or even come close to being aware of that. It did not turn her off Jill at all though, because it made her more accepting of Jill committing errors as a natural part of being. Eureka is far less lenient in her mind with Haruki and Eclipse, because they have not given Eureka that argument as bluntly as well as being themselves . . .

Mmmm, Jill is also where Eureka measures her morality most. She has played with the idea through reading books, talking with others, and seeing how games go, but she really judges whether she succeeds or fails by Jill in a large part. If she upsets Jill, then she knows that she was wrong! It also works in the opposite direction . . . Eureka was pointed to other people in order to gauge the "correctness" of her actions, and she has not been pleased with the results, haha. In the same sense, Eureka is very sensitive to lying and acting in questionable ways with Jill. If she feels doubt in something that she is doing, then she generally notes to run the idea against Jill which is why she wanted to check on the bracelet, tells her about any big developments, and so on.

H-Huff, Eureka learns so much from Jill and loves her so much, and I adore what a positive and encouraging dynamic that they have. It is too cute, aah. ♥

So, suddenly, queens. How has Susan been doing in Aather?

I just answered this at length in Leto's question meme, so I'm going to C/P even though it's kind of rambly:

Susan honestly doesn't spend a lot of time thinking about her time in Aather at all. She just sort of rolls with it as it happens, because she doesn't know how else to deal with it. In a way, it's been a series of horrifying shocks to her... I was really mean in the starter memory I chose, so her first moment upon arrival was just "well fuck, I let my family get magically separated," and then Edmund pretty quickly informed her that they were all dead except her, and then she got to find out how much she hates killing and fighting by taking part in a battle against Darkness monsters so yes. And then in the background is this constant slight feeling of disconnection from her body, because it's not what she has in any of her memories and she also knows it doesn't represent the amount of time she's been alive, as I mentioned before. So she's really just avoiding looking it all over as much as possible.

Besides that, she's sort of engaging with the plot and Personae on a very personal and small-scale level... she chose Guinevere as a patron because it was personal for her, and she's sort of trying to make friends with Horatio, but she really doesn't see the Personae as a cohesive group at all. So ICly people will ask her what she thinks of Aather or what she thinks of the Personae and she's just like... "It's a place?? WHICH ONES???" more or less. She's not really sure how to engage with the teams for the same reason; she understands that some of them have fairly unified identities, but when she meets people she never really thinks of them as part of a unit.

On the other hand, there are a lot of things she really appreciates about Aather: being able to see Edmund, the people she's met and befriended, the opportunity to do something, although she hasn't yet figured out what. So overall, she feels sort of lost and ill-defined when it comes to her experiences in Aather. She's still figuring it out, and there are big things she doesn't want to examine too closely, which makes figuring it out somewhat challenging.

Any updates on Mau and Selenia?

I don't know if there's much new there! Mau certainly feels more comfortable around Selenia and less like there's a power-play dynamic in their interactions lately, but that's been the case for awhile. He still worries about him sometimes, but he feels like they're actually friends now, so it's a pretty relaxed relationship on this side nowadays.

What about from the other side?

Power dynamics are always going to be something that Selenia has on the brain somewhere (because...Van...), but with Mau it's much easier to shove it into the background and acknowledge that it's a thought process he should be clamping down on. Of the relationships he has in Aather right now, Mau is probably one of the ones he feels most equal to (alongside Apple and Spitfire as well) and Selenia does try to make a conscious effort to keep it that way because he genuinely values Mau's friendship.

He has been a bit worried about Mau since Red and Bubbles left who were two of the other legacies, which was part of the reason he asked if Mau felt comfortable with the team and if being legacy made him feel distant (tho I don't remember if he ICly phrased it that way or not), and he worried that Mau would eventually decide to go home if he didn't feel close to Sapphire anymore. Mau reassured him that 'going home before things are done' wasn't going to happen, but Selenia still wants to make more of an effort to involve Mau in his own life to make it clear that he still has a place on Sapphire...under the justification that "hey, it can't hurt".

THIS MIGHT BE A WEIRD QUESTION but do Susan and Jill have CR? What is their CR like? :o

Susan and Jill don't really have CR, because playercest makes me self-conscious, although I did thread out one onscreen meeting between them wherein they decided to gang up on Edmund if he ever tried to become a hermit.

SO YEAH, they've met and they get along but they're probably never going to have a super deep relationship unless I get incredibly bored some night and start extensively threading with myself which let's be real COULD HAPPEN. /)_(\ but it hasn't yet.

Is there anyone you're hoping will show up in this round of apps?

I approve of Edmund being ganged-up on.

Two different people expressed interest in maybe possibly apping Tear sometime in the distant future, maybe possibly if they have the time to go through a 60~90 hour game and create a registry maybe...Which means it's very unlikely that she'll be apped but I am still secretly hoping she just magically shows up on the accepted and awaiting placement list. '-'

I also keep hoping for one of the God Generals, just because Van met the people he fought against when he intro'd and having to figure out what to do with someone who was loyal to him and his ideals before would be interesting to play with. Largo and Legretta were most aware of what his true intentions were and were also still okay with it so they'd be most interesting in regards to that. Arietta would be interesting because she's the one God General where Van took (questionable) steps to (questionable) protect her. Sync would be god-awful since Van remembers how he pretty much treated him like a disposible tool and made it clear that that was his purpose and Sync justifiably hates and resents him for it so having Selenia try and fix a relationship he thoroughly made sure would be broken would be interesting. :') ...And then there's Dist that would mostly be fun to see now our Jade is back in a legacy slot. 8')

Yeah! Hmm... tell me about Selenia's feelings on Mordred, since I get the impression there might be stuff going on there.

(oops, didn't see you already answered it. orz but omg. Lemony Snicket.)

SELENIA'S FEELINGS ON MORDRED IS...He's clearly a bastard but he also seems to have some decency under all that. He ran a bad game at a horrible time, yes, but it was a game where the damage was avoidable, a way out was clearly given within the rules (though the price for it was sacrificing one's pride) and he followed it up by rewarding teams that rebelled against the game and did as they pleased. Selenia also learned from Star that Mordred's role is to 'upset the status quo' so he's taken that with the game and believes that Mordred's role is, essentially, one that must be overthrown to fulfill it. (Which he...hasn't figured out what to do about that, as he still isn't sure how he feels about Firebird being trapped in a role focused on breaking cages such as roles.)

Mordred was also clearly introduced as The Villain of Camelot's tale (or at least An Effective Red Herring) so Selenia is also predisposed to liking him by default, because villains are just easier to get along with as they're usually all sensible, reasonable sorts. >:|>b So he has faith in Mordred's intentions at least since he outright said that protecting Camelot was his priority, even if Selenia still has doubts on Mordred's methods.

...Right now tho he just likes having another bastard sort to shit-talk about other teams/knights/Personae with on one level while grudgingly acknowledging that, yes, maybe they have some worth after all on another. Which was...one of the things he genuinely missed being able to do with Jabberwock haha.

I don't know if I asked this before, but on the topic of Sapphires and dangerous Personae, what about Pandora most caught Mau's attention and how does he feel about her? :o

Mau doesn't have positive feelings for Pandora, exactly, but he's really sad about what she does. Mostly the imagery of a person made of clay pings him in certain ways; it's imagery he's used to describe himself at his darkest moments. And she has always been encouraging of questions and curiosity, so that's another thing that pings him. He can understand her ideas about hope from despair, but he disagrees with them so strongly and he really doesn't know what to do about it. Mostly he feels like there's some way she's been hurt so she can't be gotten through to easily, and he doesn't know if that's something within her story or just the fact that she's trapped in a role in general. He can't often find her to talk to, and pretty much doesn't think there's anything he can do to help, but he thinks about her a lot. He can't have any sympathy for the kind of games she runs, he can't excuse them at all, but she sort of haunts him.

Any interesting new CR in Selenia's life?

VAN MET ANOTHER TALES OF FINAL BOSS, and it's the one that pings his replica sensor so it's been pretty great. Lepi and I both touched on that particular CR in their question meme. Right now Van's still in the 'play rocks with new tiny and see what happens' stage with him but it's been one of the more unique brands of CR I've played in Aather.

He also recently met Leto on Ruby and almost immediately fate became a thing and he found someone that has an exceptionally good read on him in those regards (which...seems to be a thing with Van and Rubies apparently when violence isn't the thing instead). That's thread still on-going but as someone that went into canonblind re: Dune, it's ended up being a really satisfying thread. Being pleasantly surprised by a thing along with your character is an exciting experience. +_+
